Saturday October 23

-  This week’s demonstration protesting Puppy and Me, a store that sells puppy mill puppies bought from some of the worst breeders in the country will be on Saturday at 13753 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks.  There will be 2 shifts: 12-2 PM and 3-5 PM.  Last week the store didn’t even open on Sunday while the protest was there!    Let’s keep up the pressure until they decide to go humane!   Signs and literature will be provided, but it would be helpful to bring your own sign in case they don’t have enough for everyone.  Parking is available at meters, or there is 2-hour parking in the neighborhood.  Feel free to bring 2-legged and 4-legged friends. For more information, contact Lindsay at 213-706-3447.

-  There are also puppy mill protests at Barkworks stores in Westside Pavilion, The Shops at Mission Viejo, and Brea Mall.  Contact Jen Krause <jkrause@bestfriends.org> for more information on these events.

-  Meet David Dayan Fisher, NCIS bad guy Trent Kort and author of a new kids book “Puppy School” who will be signing copies at Mush, 5651 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, 6-9 PM.  Come for hors d’oeuvres, wine and shipping with a portion of all sales going to n Defense of Animals (IDA).
